Ever since its release in 2014, the Macan has been an extremely popular model for Porsche. Selling 600,000 models with most being new Porsche customers! Now, they’ve gone and made it better with the revamped 2022 model. There are changes both inside and outside along with a new engine!
The Exterior
The new Macan has a redesigned front grille which either includes body coloured inserts on the Macan and Macan S models or black inserts on the GTS model above. Speaking of the colours, there are a few new ones that have been added. Papaya Metallic, Gentian Blue Metallic and Python Green take the total to 14 colours available on the 2022 Macan. There are 7 new wheel designs as well and the Macan will have 19 inch wheels as standard. The Macan S will have 20 inches as standard while that number is 21 inches for the Macan GTS. The rear features an all new diffuser as well.
The Interior
The centre console now replaces the ‘tactile buttons’ with touch sensitive stuff. The gear selector is shorter and the analogue clock on the dash is now standard. All cars have a leather interior with new contrast stitching colours available. These are Papaya, Gentian Blue and Crayon. Lastly, the 2022 Macan also gets the multifunction steering from the 911! How’s that for sporting credentials! Speaking of sport, the GTS package has additional options like 18 way adjustable seats, carbon fibre and some additional contrast stitching in python green.
In terms of the engines, the GTS’ 2.9 litre twin turbo V6 now produces 44 more kW. That equates to 324kW which will catapult the car from 0-100 in 4.3 seconds! It will propel the vehicle all the way to 272km/hr. The Macan S also gets the V6 biturbo engine which puts out 280kW and will do the 0-100 sprint in 4.6-seconds. Meanwhile, the Macan gets a 2 litre turbo engine with 195kW. It’s no slouch either, being able to do the 0-100 sprint in 6.2 seconds! All Macans will have Porsche’s 7-speed dual clutch (PDK) gearbox along with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all wheel drive.
