Picture this: 27 spirited Westlake boys swapping their textbooks for football boots, embarking on the ultimate tour—a 20-day odyssey through the hallowed pitches of the UK and Spain. This isn’t just any school trip; it’s a boot-clad ballet blending sport, sightseeing, and some serious skill-building. But dreams, like penalty shootouts, come with a price tag. Thus begins the valiant quest for funds fueled by, of all things, coffee—the magical elixir that powers both Monday mornings and now, epic football adventures.
Over nearly three adrenaline-pumped weeks—conveniently bridging term time and the school’s April holidays—the boys will face off in five footie matches against local teams. Training is no mere afterthought: there are three sessions with their own WBHS coaches plus a remarkable six with elite European maestros, including legendary powerhouses like Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and even a turn on the hallowed turf at St George’s Park, the home of England Football.
But the journey isn’t limited to the pitch. Expect a whirlwind of Premier League stadium tours, an educational pilgrimage to the National Football Museum in Manchester, and the sort of sightseeing that would make even the most seasoned traveler envious: the vibrant streets of Madrid, the energizing art of Barcelona, and London’s ceaseless pulse.

How can the community get involved? Firstly By drinking coffee—a tribute to practical fundraising and to universal caffeine dependency. Simply purchase your beans or grinds (espresso/plunger) below and proceeds will help support the fund ‘coffee never tasted soo good’ – scan the barcode or click here to order
But wait there’s more. The organisers are game for any idea, no matter how outlandish. “No suggestion is too big, too small, or too stupid,” they say, and honestly, what better motto for a group raising money to storm Europe armed with footballs and Kiwi charm?
So whether you’re fueled by your morning mocha or inspired by dreams of grassroots soccer glory, pitch in—literally or figuratively—and help send these boys on the footballing adventure of their lives. After all, legends aren’t born, they’re brewed, one coffee and community effort at a time.
Thanks for the support – You and Industry Coffee.
