2025 marks 130 years since Skoda’s inception and 50 years since the brand’s iconic 130RS rally car, now those are milestones worth celebrating! And the Czech brand are indeed marking the occasion with one of their fan favourites, the Fabia. Specifically, the Fabia 130 which comes with a 1.5L TSI engine, putting out a very intentional 130kW, taking the hatch up to 228km/hr!
Fabia 130 is the fastest production version of the car to exist and it is denoted by 130 edition badges, gloss black details and dual exhaust tips as well as smoke coloured wheels. The sporty trend continues to the inside where a three spoke steering wheel, electric sports seats and a virtual cockpit take centre stage. Why the Fabia then, well it has sole more than 5 million units today and is one of Skoda’s historic bestsellers since its birth in 1999.

Based on the Fabia Montecarlo, the 130 features a “distinct hot hatch character” that is harnessed through its DSG gearbox and more dynamic handling. It’ll clock the 0-100 sprint in 7.4, about 0.7s faster than the previous most powerful Fabia. The Fabia nameplate of course is one that Skoda previously used for both an RS performance model as well as their WRC, S2000 and Rally2 entries from 2003 onwards, going on to become the most successful car in its rally class!
Orders for the Fabia 130 are now open with deliveries set to commence in December.
