Honda Launches Updated Shine 125 – A New Era of Commuter Excellence

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Shine 125, marking a significant evolution in the commuter motorcycle segment.

Leading the updates is a state-of-the-art fully digital instrument cluster, bringing the Shine 125 up to speed with modern competitors. This new display offers comprehensive information including real-time fuel economy, distance to empty, gear position, service due indicator, and an eco-indicator. Adding to rider convenience, Honda has integrated a USB Type-C charging port for on-the-go device charging.

The 2025 model maintains its reputation for reliability with an upgraded OBD2B-compliant 123.94cc single-cylinder engine. This refined powerplant generates 10.63bhp and 11Nm of torque, paired with a smooth-shifting five-speed gearbox . The engine comes equipped with modern features including an idle start-stop system and ACG starter for enhanced efficiency.

Aesthetically, Honda has introduced six striking new color options: Decent Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Geny Gray Metallic, and Rebel Red Metallic . While maintaining its classic commuter design philosophy, the motorcycle now features a wider 90mm rear tire for improved stability and road presence.

Speaking at the launch, Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of HMSI, highlighted the Shine’s legacy since 2006, noting its consistent position as the segment’s most trusted motorcycle . The update represents Honda’s commitment to evolving with customer needs while maintaining the core values that have made the Shine a success story in the Indian market.

The motorcycle retains its proven suspension setup, featuring telescopic front forks and five-step adjustable dual shock absorbers at the rear. Safety features include CBS (Combined Braking System), with the disc variant sporting a 240mm front disc brake.

This comprehensive update positions the Honda Shine 125 as a stronger competitor in the premium commuter segment, particularly against rivals like the Hero Super Splendor.
