Defender (formerly Land Rover Defender) has been supporting the sport of rugby for over 25 years thus far and will continue to do so as it takes on the role of Principal Partner of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup. The prestigious event will take place in the UK from August to September this year and reinforces the strong growth seen by the women’s game in recent years.

The event will also focus on ‘Defender’s Trailblazers’, an initiative that began in 2023 to highlight inspiring women and girls who exhibit the brand’s “Embrace the Impossible” slogan.
Further to this, the ‘Defender Mascot’ program will also see 64 children recruited from the rugby playing nations which include the likes of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France and New Zealand. This will allow the next generation of boys and girls to take inspiration from the rugby players of today as is consistent with the men’s game. Across the UK, children of Defender’s customers will be chosen at random as a “family reward”.
