Running from the 23rd of April to the 2nd of May, the ‘Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition’ or ‘Auto Shanghai’ for short will undoubtedly see the debut of many new cars. However, few are set to make an impact on day one in the way that Lexus will.

That’s right, a new Lexus ES is going to debut. The new model promises to “redefine advanced electrification technologies” while continuing to innovate where quietness and ride comfort are concerned, two of the ES’ historic strong suits. We don’t know much about the new car yet with the only teasers being an image and a short video. However, as far as we can tell, the new model is certainly going to be a sedan and will likely include a fully electric trim level at the very least.

The outgoing seventh generation car has been around since 2017 with two facelift models being launched along the way, one in 2021 and one in 2024. Yet, the outgoing car still seems to have been around for a long time so a new model is timely!
