2027 will see Ford return to the pinnacle of prototype sports car racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). The aim is to relive the successes that the brand enjoyed in the series almost 60 years ago now!
The team will race under Ford Performance, entering a full factory team in FIA WEC with the aim of taking a win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Those motorsport fans among you would have no doubt watched ‘Ford Versus Ferrari’, the movie that told the tale of Ford’s win at the 1966 event, Ken Miles the hero of that victory despite Bruce McLaren being declared the official winner! That success continued on until 1969, seeing Ford clinch four consecutive titles at Le Mans. Since then, Ford have added more silverware from that track via the GTLM in 2016 and the Mustang GT3.
With the recent return of Ferrari to the series, Ford will no doubt be aiming to usurp them once again!
