2026 marks many important anniversaries for a number of icons, both on and off the screen. Arguably, one of the most significant ones being 100 years since Marilyn Monroe’s birth and in her honour, Genesis has teamed up with Maggie Gyllenhaal to create ‘Flesh Impact’ which will debut at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival this year.

Gyllenhaal, an Academy Award nominee herself will direct a cast starring Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn and Dakota Johnson who play two versions of Marilyn. Emmy nominees Peter Sarsgaard and Sepideh Moafi also star in the film. It’s debut at the 2026 Venice Film Festival is also a special one as Burstyn will receive a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
The lineup of producers is equally noteworthy and includes William Green (The Cut), Michelle Ross (Superprime), Nicolette Spencer & Melissa Moore (INNOCEAN) and Genesis of course!

The film is set to be a “love letter to one of cinema’s most enduring icons” and you’re probably wondering why Genesis got behind this picture in particular? Well, the desire to “challenge convention” brought Marilyn and Genesis together in this instance, with the blessings of Authentic Brands Group who hold Monroe’s estate.
Genesis as an automaker has generally taken a lead role in supporting the arts with the brand appearing in Netflix’s ‘The Fox‘ earlier this year and now in ‘Flesh Impact.’
