Drool Over the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm

Alfa Romeo’s drool worthy duo of the Giulia GTA and GTAm recently made their debut at the Balocco proving ground where Autodelta first launched the legendary Giulia GTA in 1965. This the place where Alfa test all their new cars and have done so for the last 60 years, it features 27 different tracks amongst other things! The new Giulia GTA becomes only the fourth Alfa Romeo to wear that iconic name.

A legend is reborn

The engine, often the most special part of an Alfa Romeo GTA remains vastly unchanged from a normal Giulia QV. The car still makes use of the Ferrari derived 2.9l twin turbo V6 but this time it puts out 540bhp as opposed to 505. That moves its power to weight ratio up to a class leading 187 bhp per litre. Alfa have used carbon fibre extensively through the car meaning that it will accelerate from 0-100 in 3.6 seconds! That’s practically supercar territory!

A lot of visible change has gone on as you can see and that is thanks to Sauber Engineering, Alfa’s Formula 1 partners. Sauber created the new side skirts and four way adjustable spoiler. Continuing with the carbon theme, the rear splitter is also made from the stuff and it hides the titanium Akrapovic exhaust system which makes quite the noise!

What a car!

Alfa always like to be the first in a particular field especially when it comes their GTA cars and this one is no different. It is the first road going sedan to have single locking nuts on the wheels, preventing theft. On the inside, the rear bench has been removed and makes way for a roll cage along with a secure storage space for your helmet.

Alfa’s new Centro Stile allows for limitless conversions

Speaking of the helmet, Alfa Romeo will provide you with a free Bell helmet in a GTA livery, you will also get Alpinestars gloves, boots and overalls to match! Alfa have also set up their own Centro Stile meaning you can now configure everything about the car right up to the livery of your helmet!

Australian prices are expected to be around the $300,000 mark with only 18 dedicated for the Australasia region. Unfortunately, all those GTAm have Australian names to them…..
