Bentley Fragrances has added Become Odyssey to its Become collection, a 100ml Eau de Parfum built around bergamot, ginger, black pepper and sandalwood.
Bentley’s newest launch from Crewe has no engine and needs no garage. Bentley Fragrances has unveiled Become Odyssey, a new Eau de Parfum and the third scent in its Become collection. It joins the existing Become and Become Zenith fragrances.
An Adventure Theme, According to the Brand
Bentley says the spirit of adventure inspired Odyssey. The brand links the scent to discovery, freedom and fresh perspectives along the journey.
That is a lot to ask of a bottle. Still, the travel theme suits a company better known for long-distance grand tourers. The press material also says Odyssey takes the collection into “new emotional territory”. That is marketing language, and buyers can judge it for themselves once they smell the fragrance.
What Is Actually in the Bottle
Perfumers Pierre Gueros and Alexandra Carlin created the composition. Bentley describes it as a balance of bright freshness, warming spices and woody depth.
Like most fragrances, it develops in three stages. Here is the breakdown Bentley provided:
- Top notes: bergamot oil and fresh ginger oil
- Heart notes: black pepper oil and a tea accord
- Base notes: vetiver oil, a sandalwood accord and musks
In practice, the top notes create the first impression and fade fairly quickly. Bergamot and ginger should make the opening crisp and lively. The pepper and tea heart then adds contrast. Finally, the base takes over and lasts longest. Vetiver brings an earthy edge, sandalwood adds creaminess and the musks round it off. Bentley says the result leaves a lasting, intense trail.
A Familiar Look for the Collection
The bottle follows the design language of the earlier Become fragrances. Bentley calls it a sculptural flacon and links it to the brand’s modern take on luxury and precision.
This time it comes in soft, sand-toned gradients. That fits the exploration theme, and it should make Odyssey easy to tell apart from its two siblings on a shelf.
