Volkswagen ID Vehicles Cross 1.5 Million Mark

A black Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer Pro recently rolled off the line at VW’s Emden plant in Germany. Normally, that’s hardly a newsworthy event but in the case of this particular car, it became the 1.5 millionth Volkswagen ID vehicle to be made.

The customer handover involved Olaf Lies, MP of Lower Saxony as well as Martin Sander and Kai Grunitz, both VW Board of Management members. It’s been just over five years since the first Volkswagen ID vehicle rolled off the line, fast forward to today and the brand now dominate sales statistics all over Europe. Emden is the only VW plant in the world solely dedicated to electric vehicles but ID models are also manufactured in Zwickau, Glaserne, Chattanooga (USA), Foshan and Anting (both China).

Additions are still coming for Volkswagen’s ID family of vehicles

Five years ago, the ID.3 stood alone as the only car in the family but it has since been joined by the ID.4, ID.5, ID.Buzz and ID.7 more recently. There’s still more to come from Volkswagen as they prepare the production version of their affordable ID.2all and ID.EVERY1 vehicles as well.
