Huge demand for the new fully electric Volvo EX60 has seen the Swedish brand increase production to keep up with orders from key markets like that of its home as well as Germany. Not even a month has passed since the car’s official unveiling and demand has already been significantly greater than what was forecasted.

3,000 orders have been taken in Sweden alone, helped along by an offer of three years free home charging. Notably, demand for the EX60 has been higher than that of the EX30 back in 2023, even though that car asked less pricewise and sits in a higher volume segment, go figure! Remember, Volvo have only just opened up order books across Europe too, America is still to come and then the rest of the world.
Despite ramping up production, Volvo are astute on maintaining quality of the finished vehicles with its Torslanda plant in Sweden picking up the mantle. Volvo are aiming to keep the facility open for an extra week in summer to meet demand, if successful, it will be the first time in the company’s history that such opening hours have been applied!
