Volvo is making waves with its new all-electric EX60, hailed as a “game changer” by the Swedish brand. This innovative SUV is built on a brand-new, fully electric platform called SPA3, designed exclusively for electric vehicles. It promises a blend of cutting-edge technology, impressive performance, and Volvo’s renowned commitment to safety.

Smart Technology & Underpinnings
At the heart of the EX60’s intelligence is the HuginCore system, essentially making it a software-defined vehicle. HuginCore combines the advanced SPA3 electrical architecture with Volvo’s in-house developed software and a powerful core computer. This integration ensures the EX60 can evolve over time, receiving updates that enhance performance, safety, and connectivity. Drivers can also look forward to seamless integration with Google Gemini for an advanced infotainment experience.

Power, Range, and Smart Charging
The EX60 is engineered for long journeys and quick recharges. It boasts an impressive range of up to 810 kilometres on a single charge (P12 model). When it’s time to power up, super-fast charging allows you to add up to 340 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes.
Volvo has also tackled the challenge of cold-weather charging with the Breathe Charge software. Developed in collaboration with Breathe, this smart algorithm optimises charging speed and ensures a more consistent charging experience, even when temperatures drop, preventing the common performance dips seen in other electric vehicles.
Uncompromised Safety and Innovative Design
Safety remains a cornerstone for Volvo, and the EX60 is no exception, meeting the latest Volvo car safety standards. It introduces a world-first multi-adaptive safety belt, designed to be more adaptable than traditional “one-size-fits-all” belts, providing enhanced restraint for front-seat occupants.
Structural innovations further boost safety and driving dynamics. The cell-to-body technology integrates the battery pack directly into the car’s body structure, effectively making it the floor. This design significantly reduces weight and lowers the centre of gravity, leading to improved handling, better yaw inertia, and increased overall stiffness. Additionally, the mega-casted rear floor, made from 50% recycled aluminum, replaces numerous smaller parts with a single, strong component, contributing to the EX60 having the lowest carbon footprint of any Volvo to date

Adding to the modern convenience, the EX60 utilises digital keys on mobile phones, making access to the vehicle seamless and secure.
