Seiko Australia has just unveiled the latest Seiko 5 Sports Supercars Limited Edition – codenamed SRPL54K, celebrating its long-standing partnership with the Repco Supercars Championship. This marks a milestone in a collaboration that began in 2014 and that has now been extended for two more years.

The latest Limited Edition Supercars watch is “inspired by the technical precision and unforgiving nature of the track”. A place where every twist, turn, climb, and descent pushes both driver and machine to their absolute limits. Watches and motorsport go hand in hand since time immemorial, and this exclusive edition is more than just a timepiece — it is a tribute to the unwavering spirit of racing.

It features a textured dial echoing racing asphalt. From grid-inspired bezel markers to a Lumi Brite 12 o’clock marker, a nod to the starting lights, every detail connects you to the heart of motorsport. As for what is powering all of this, the movement is the tried and true 4R36 workhorse, with 41h of power reserve, day and date indications, hacking and hand winding.

The previous year’s model, which celebrated 10 years of the partnership, had a more diverse collection of colourways, but felt less like its own thing. The new dial and the applied indices are novelties to the Seiko 5 lineup, and one that yours truly rates very highly – I’m actually typing this while wearing another Seiko 5.

Limited to 2,025 pieces, this timepiece comes in a specially designed collector’s box featuring a detailed Mount Panorama track map. The box (and the watch) contain the limited-edition serial number engraved, ensuring every piece remains an exclusive part of motorsport history. Ah, and you cannot miss the scaled replica of the iconic Aussie pit lane watch tower.

This release reinforces Seiko’s dedication to the adrenaline-fueled world of Australian motorsport, and if you want to learn more about it, here’s the official release page https://www.seikowatches.com/au-en/products/5sports/srpl54
