The New Zealander is Formula E‘s most successful driver and was Opel’s target right from the start, he now joins Theo Pourchaire at the newly formed Opel GSE Formula E Team! Evans’ signature is a clear signal of intent from the newcomers who are looking to challenge for wins right from the get-go.

16 race wins over ten years with the Jaguar TCS Racing Team has given Evans considerable experience which will not only be valuable for his new team’s development but also for that of his rookie teammate, Pourchaire. Jorg Schrott, Team Principal stated that “Mitch Evans was the preferred candidate from the very beginning” and if that’s anything to go by, Opel seem to be getting what they want, the Formula E grid has been warned!

Evans is amped up for the upcoming season and the new GEN4 cars add an extra layer of challenge to Mitch’s start with Opel. Having narrowly missed out on the title last season, the Kiwi driver still has a “score to settle in Formula E” in his own words and will no doubt be looking to do this while at Opel. Theo and Mitch will be joined by test and development driver Sophia Florsch as the team unveil the car’s final design at the Paris Motor Show on October 12th.
