Celebrating 20 years in partnership, Defender and Tusk have announced an extension to their existing collaboration. The luxury off-road brand will continue to support Tusk’s conservation efforts, ramping up the number of vehicles supplied and granting funding for new projects.

The fresh funding and renewed partnership will encourage Tusk’s partners including ‘Save the Rhino Trust‘ in Namibia, ‘Wild Entrust‘ in Botswana and ‘Vulpro‘ in South Africa. Efforts carried by the two will continue to protect both endangered species and their biodiversity across Africa. Defender’s vehicles will be used over the next three years for surveying, tracking, rescuing and rehabilitating endangered wildlife while also supporting community engagement activities.
Always going ‘Above and Beyond’, Defender will also support Tusk’s ‘Wildlife Ranger Challenge’ as part of the renewed partnership. Wildlife rangers across Africa will race across its protected areas to raise vital funds for conservation, an effort that has supported 11,500 rangers and protected 45 endangered species across 36,678,540 hectares of land. Expectations are that the campaign will raise more than $21m this year!
Edward Aruna of the ‘Reptile and Amphibian Programme’ Sierra Leone won Tusk’s award for 2024, highlighting his work for marine turtles that are facing threats in the country due to mining and poor environmental protection laws. The result of his work has engaged the local government to become more involved in marine conservation.
