Massive news has broken recently from the trucking industry. Mitsubishi’s Fuso Truck and Bus division has merged with Hino Motors. Together, a new holding company has been established which is co-owned by Toyota and Daimler Truck!
As it stands, Toyota and Daimler Truck will own 25% each of the yet to be named holding company which will own 100% of Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors.
Four of the biggest names in the trucking industry were brought together with a “shared desire to create the future of commercial vehicles”. This merger should see improvements in both efficiencies of production as well as the respective companies’ impact on the environment. Karl Deppen, Mitsubishi Fuso’s current CEO is looking likely to be appointed to the same role for this new holding company.
The four chiefs represented their respective firms at a recent Q & A session held by Toyota Times during which they discussed the merger, Hydrogen fueled mobility and more! Watch the video above.
