Lamborghini Centenario – enough said

Lamborghini officially took the wraps off its new one-off roadster in Monterey at their car week. The Centenario is part of Lamborghini’s continued celebration of the centenary of Ferrucio Lamborghini, the marque’s founder, and is a rolling test-bed for the next generation.

centenario4It showcases their brand new rear-wheel-steering system, which allows the car to tighten and lengthen the wheelbase by 1,200mm and as a result, cornering manoeuvrability is increased at low speeds and stability at high speeds. It also brings with it a new version of its V12 engine, offering 760bhp and 507Nm and propels the Centenario from 0-100kph in 2.8 seconds and up to 300kph in 23.5 seconds.

The front sports an aggressive twin splitter which simultaneously generates huge amounts of downforce and channels air over and down the car, via the sideblades. The rear of the car sports an active rear wing delivering 227kg of downforce at 280kph and a massive diffuser with very little in the way of bodywork surface area behind the rear wheels.
