While Honda are most commonly known for their cars, they have a strong motorcycle division as well. An arm of the brand that has given the world icons like the Super Cub and Monkey, not to forget superbikes like the Fireblade! Now, Honda have unveiled their first ever electric motorcycle, the WN7.

Debuting at the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA 2025), WN7 embodies a philosophy of “Be the Wind”, hence its named frame. Honda wanted its riders to enjoy the sensations of “gliding through the air” with a certain quietness that only an EV can offer. The WN7 can be told apart from Honda’s range of combustion powered motorcycles thanks to a horizontal light bar which will become a signature for the range.

The new black coloured body with gold accents will also become a staple of Honda’s future range of electric motorcycles. WN7 also uses a frameless chassis where the Aluminium cased battery is effectively part of the bike’s structure. The design allows the bike to be lighter as well as improving its handling through clever positioning of that battery.

Power output has been rated at 50kW which is equivalent to that of a 600cc combustion powered motorcycle, peak torque is 100Nm. The power is sent to the rear wheel through a ‘belt-drive system’ which incorporates a new state of the art gearbox, all working in silence of course! A 9.3kWhr battery offers 140km of cruising range and can be charged from 20% to 0% in 30 minutes, through both CCS2 and Type 2 charging.

Production of the WN7 will take place at Honda’s Kumamoto Factory which the global home of the brand’s motorcycle manufacturing. The new motorcycle will first debut in markets where electric vehicle update is progressing and then subsequently to the rest of the world from there.
