This year celebrates 50 years of the Fieldays, an epic gumboot wearers Expo.

However, with hoards of people flocking to get their fill of ‘what’s new’ in country chic, it’s also become a place for car brands to showcase their wares – County folk drive too!

We nipped down to Mystery Creek to take a look, here’s what we found…

Volkswagen

With a huge site and plenty on offer, this year VW are drawing your attention to the V6 Amarok, the California camper, eGolf, Transporter and Allspace Tiguan to name but a few. Great soup and a charity sausage sizzle too.

Range Rover/Land Rover

Country Posh Chariot suppler Land Rover are drawing your attention to the Disco (Discovery not the Saturday Night fever kind) and the Velar. Their dominant pure white stand does make you want to wipe your feet before entering and lusting after the good looking gear.

Ford

Visual delights a plenty. New Mustang and Focus RS, a Ranger complete with Felton Shelter on to and the first NZ public outing of the Ranger Raptor

Lexus

Another posh country offering from the Lexus team. Hybrids, AWD, 7-seaters and a look at the blue LC500 – not for use on rutted fields. There is also a pitch black Lexus experience to excite the senses.

Toyota

It’s a rural expo so Toyota have to be here. Huge site and everything on offer.

Mercedes-Benz

It’s all X-Class of course and why wouldn’t it be! Mind you, once you’ve finally dragged yourself away from the new UTE, make sure you grab a pie and play a Mercedes-Benz version of connect four.

Holden

Family fun with a mini Golf challenge, kid’s ride on trucks and the unveiling of the Acadia and the Colorado Xtreme

Isuzu

Take your licence and drive the rugged Isuzu track. It’s muddy and slippery and showcases their offroad capabilities

Suzuki

From mini SUV’s to sporty hatches, oh and the Jimny of course.

Hyundai

Rally to road (and trucks too). The Hyundai site is still at the very heart of Fieldays country

Skoda

A move from last year but more succinct, the Skoda site showcases the multi-award winning Kodiaq and (probably) award-winning Karoq. It’s a warm and inviting site that is easy on the eye.

Jeep/Ram

With the impressive beast that is the RAM truck up front and Jeeps of all sizes, this is a site worth the visit (including an offroad experience too).

Fieldays has loads on offer for town and country folk alike (not just vehicles of course). for those that haven’t been there before (seriously what have you been doing for 50 years?), take your Wellies and spend the day – be careful though, it’s addictive fun for all the family.
