GWM confirms Ora as the brand’s first fully electric vehicle, New Zealand production is already underway and first shipments are expected in April.

Launched overseas as the Ora Good Cat or the Ora Funky Cat, the GWM Ora will be available in New Zealand with two battery options, a 48kWh battery offering WLTP range of 310km and a 63kWh battery offering WLTP range of 420km.

The GWM Ora has the flexibility for a variety of different driving scenarios. Charging from just 10% capacity to 80% is possible in just 41 minutes on the 48kWh option. Outputs of 126kW of power and 250Nm of torque, which can be delivered through a one pedal driving mode, provide instant performance whenever it is needed.

With an overall length of 4,235mm, a height of 1,603mm and width of 1,825mm the Ora provides ample space for passengers, front and rear. In line with its other GWM stablemates the Ora comes equipped with a wide range of features for maximum comfort and convenience, in addition, almost every conceivable safety feature has been made standard across the Ora range. Already awarded with a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, we are working directly with ANCAP towards updating this for New
Zealand and Australia expect to be able to confirm this shortly.

The brand-new Ora line-up will consist of 3 models: Ora Standard Range, Ora Long Range and Ora GT. The GT model will be available later than the other two Ora models with exact timing still to be confirmed.
Battery size and range, as specified above, is the only difference between the Ora Standard Range and the Ora Long Range. The GT, however, takes different exterior styling cues including exclusive 18-inch GT alloy wheels, exclusive GT bumpers and grille and red brake calipers to set itself apart.

Ora will be available in a choice of five exterior two-tone colours – Hamilton White, Sun Black, Glacier Blue, Mars Red and Aurora Green.

GWM Ora has been competitively priced and will launch as one of the country’s most affordable EVs. Ora Standard Range MSRP $49,990, Ora Long Range MSRP $55,990 and Ora GT $60,990 (all Plus ORCs)
