Few nameplates are so synonymous with electrification as the Nissan Leaf. Following its debut in 2010, the Leaf opened up the horizons of EV ownership, making the concept far more accessible than before. Gen 2 came along in 2017 and helped further Nissan’s efforts in the affordable EV space.
Winning numerous awards along the way and selling over 650,000 units, the Leaf has achieved plenty during its time thus far with our own Harry de Souza going so far as to dub it “the OG EV” in his review of the car.
In New Zealand, EV ownership has never been more accessible than today with Nissan NZ officially dropping prices on the Leaf which now begins at $29,990 + ORC. This marks the first instance of a brand new electric vehicle being available in the country for a price tag that begins with 2! At this price, the Leaf represents even better value than before, going one step further to make the gen 2 car an even more appealing package for EV buyers.
