BMW’s Panoramic Vision unveiled at CES 2025

It seems BMW is looking straight into the future, unveiling not just a car but an entire redefinition of how we interact with our vehicles. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, the automotive giant showcased its upcoming BMW iDrive system, a feat of design ingenuity and technological prowess that’s destined to take center stage in BMW’s next-generation models starting late this year .

The star of the show? The game-changing BMW Panoramic Vision, a head-up display that stretches from A-pillar to A-pillar, projecting key information onto a sleek black printed surface on the lower windshield. Drivers will now have indispensable content projected right into their line of sight, while passengers can indulge in an almost sci-fi-worthy display of coordinated, customizable visuals across the entire span of the screen.

But it doesn’t stop there. This isn’t just tech for tech’s sake, it’s smart and intuitive. The new BMW Operating System X underpins it all, acting as the brain behind the brawn. Described as an “intelligence hub,” this system not only personalizes how information is displayed but elevates interaction to an unprecedented level of multimodal functionality.

And speaking of interaction, the optional BMW 3D Head-Up Display takes things even further with integrated navigation and automated driving content displayed in real-time, harmonized perfectly with the Panoramic Vision. BMW isn’t just making life easier for drivers; they’re making it cool, engaging, and—dare we say—fun.

“High tech meets highly intuitive operation,” says Frank Weber, BMW AG’s development mastermind. With a quarter-century of experience driving operating system innovation, this new iDrive iteration doesn’t just keep up with industry benchmarks, it sets them .

The first model built on BMW’s Neue Klasse platform will see this futuristic operating system debut later in 2025, and from there, it will steadily integrate across all future BMW vehicles. Translation? Every drive will feel like stepping into an automotive utopia, complete with stunning aesthetics, seamless interaction, and undeniable wow-factor.
