Land Rover Classic Adds 110 Double Cab Pick-Up to ‘Colour-Changing’ Defender Range

It takes a certain kind of client to order four matching remastered Defenders at once. But that is exactly what prompted Land Rover Classic to expand its Works Bespoke programme, with the 110 Double Cab Pick-Up now available as a commission body style for the first time.

The four-car collection — comprising a 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top, 110 Station Wagon, and the newly eligible 110 Double Cab Pick-Up — was built for a single owner. It is the most visible demonstration yet of how far the Works Bespoke service can be pushed.

A Finish That Changes With the Light

The quartet’s most striking feature is its Spectral Green paint, a finish that shifts between green, purple, and gold depending on viewing angle and lighting conditions. That effect extends beyond the bodywork — the 18-inch diamond-turned Sawtooth alloy wheels, exterior badging, and interior fascia panels all carry the same finish.

Each vehicle spent close to 400 hours in Land Rover Classic’s in-house paint facility, covering surface preparation, colour matching, and final polish. A contrasting Icy White roof, expedition cage, and hand-painted white coachlines complete the exterior.

Inside, semi-aniline Bridge of Weir Vanilla leather covers the seats and trim, with contrast green stitching tying the cabin back to the exterior. Superwool carpets are bound in Bridge of Weir leather, and floor mats carry a debossed Defender wordmark.

What the Works Bespoke Programme Now Offers

Beyond this commission, Land Rover Classic has used the announcement to confirm several additions to the Works Bespoke options list. The compact two-seat 90 Hard Top body style joins the 110 Double Cab Pick-Up as a newly available choice, sitting alongside the existing 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top, and 110 Station Wagon.

A new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system is now available, integrated within a custom fascia. It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB/DAB+ digital radio, Bluetooth, and a 13-band graphic equaliser. An optional reversing camera — with a lens washer — can be mounted discreetly in the rear bumper.

The roof and 16-inch heavy-duty Wolf wheel colour palette has also expanded to include Fuji White and Corris Grey. A Trophy Pack adds Narvik Black Gloss to the bonnet, roof, rear door assembly, and wheel arches for those who want a sharper contrast against the body colour.

The Mechanical Foundations

Every Classic Defender V8 starts life as a donor vehicle originally built at Solihull between 2012 and 2016. Land Rover Classic strips and rebuilds each one, fitting a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 producing 405PS and 515Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

Chassis upgrades include revised suspension geometry, uprated springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars, along with a revised steering system and larger brakes — 335mm front and 300mm rear discs with four-piston calipers. Each finished vehicle carries a one-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

The Works Bespoke service is handled at Land Rover Classic’s facility in Coventry. The expansion of available body styles means prospective clients now have more ways to specify a vehicle that is, in every meaningful sense, built from scratch to their brief.
