If you’ve been wondering what the future flagship of Škoda looks like, wonder no more.
The wraps have officially come off the all-new Škoda Peaq, and it’s not just another electric SUV. This is the biggest, most luxurious, most technologically advanced Škoda ever built. In fact, the Czech brand is calling it the pinnacle of its electric line-up, and after seeing the numbers, it’s hard to argue.
With seating for seven, a claimed range of more than 640km, lounge-like comfort and enough technology to make your smartphone feel underqualified, the Peaq is aiming directly at families, business travellers and anyone who thinks bigger is better.

And yes, it’s pronounced exactly how you’re thinking – Peak.
The Biggest Škoda Ever
Let’s start with the obvious. At 4.87 metres long and riding on a wheelbase of almost three metres, the Peaq becomes the largest SUV in Škoda’s history and its first entry into the large all-electric SUV segment. Think of it as the EV equivalent of the Kodiaq, only larger, roomier and considerably more futuristic.

It’s also designed around Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, which translates into cleaner lines, fewer visual distractions and a more premium appearance.
The front and rear wear the brand’s latest T-shaped lighting signature, while the Peaq introduces two firsts for Škoda: flush-fitting door handles and a panoramic glass roof that stretches further than any roof previously fitted to one of the brand’s vehicles. The result is a vehicle that looks every bit the flagship.

More Space Than You’ll Know What To Do With
Škoda has built a reputation around practicality and the Peaq takes that reputation to another level. The SUV can carry up to seven occupants, but even in five-seat mode there’s a staggering 935 litres of luggage space available. That’s before you factor in the additional 37-litre front storage compartment under the bonnet.

Whether you’re loading up sports gear, luggage for a family holiday or enough groceries to survive a long weekend, the Peaq appears to have room for it all.
A Lounge On Wheels
While many manufacturers talk about comfort, Škoda seems determined to turn the Peaq into a mobile living room.

The optional Relax Package adds ventilated and massage-equipped front seats, ergonomic leg rests, a wellness-focused app and a premium Sonos audio system. The aim is simple: make long-distance travel feel less like a commute and more like relaxing in your favourite armchair.

It’s a bold claim, but with one of the largest panoramic roofs in the segment and a focus on passenger wellbeing, the Peaq certainly sounds like it has the credentials. For New Zealand drivers accustomed to lengthy holiday road trips, that’s likely to be a major selling point.
Up To 640km Of Electric Range
Range anxiety? Škoda doesn’t seem too concerned. The Peaq launches with two battery options: a 63kWh pack and a much larger 91kWh unit. The latter is the biggest battery ever fitted to a Škoda EV and helps deliver a claimed driving range of more than 640 kilometres.
Three powertrain options will be available, producing between 150kW and 220kW, with buyers able to choose either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on their priorities. The Peaq also introduces one-pedal driving and bidirectional charging, meaning the battery can do more than just power the vehicle. It can potentially supply electricity elsewhere when needed.

Technology Turned Up To Eleven
The Peaq doesn’t stop at comfort and practicality. Inside sits a new vertically mounted 13.6-inch infotainment display – the first vertical screen ever fitted to a Škoda. It’s powered by an Android-based operating system and serves as the nerve centre for the vehicle’s connected features.
There’s also a new 16-speaker Sonos audio system, wireless charging for two smartphones, enhanced connectivity features and a collection of driver assistance systems that place the Peaq at the top of Škoda’s technology tree.
Among the available features are:
- Travel Assist 3.0
- Intelligent Park Assist
- Top Area View 360-degree camera system
- Crossroad Assist
- Turn Assist
- Side Assist
- Front Assist
Ten airbags come standard, including rear side airbags and a centre airbag, reinforcing the Peaq’s flagship credentials.
Sportline Adds Extra Attitude
For buyers wanting a more aggressive look, the Peaq Sportline arrives from launch. It gains gloss black exterior accents, exclusive styling details, sports seats with integrated headrests and a unique black-themed interior. It will also be the only version available with a contrasting black roof.
LED Matrix headlights and an illuminated front light band come standard on the Sportline, helping it stand apart from the rest of the range.

Why The Peaq Matters
The Peaq is more than just another new SUV. It represents the next major step in Škoda’s electric expansion strategy. Together with the upcoming Epiq, it effectively doubles the brand’s EV offering while pushing the company into new market segments.
What’s particularly interesting is that Škoda hasn’t abandoned its traditional strengths. The Peaq still focuses on practicality, value, comfort and family usability. It’s simply delivering those qualities through an all-electric platform wrapped in a far more premium package.
Tarmac Takeaway
The electric SUV market is rapidly becoming crowded, but the Škoda Peaq appears to have found its own niche. Rather than chasing outright performance figures or trying to reinvent the wheel, Škoda has focused on what it does best: creating a vehicle that’s spacious, practical, comfortable and packed with clever features.
A seven-seat electric SUV with over 640km of range, nearly 1,000 litres of luggage space and enough technology to make daily driving easier? That’s a compelling combination.
