Luke the Nuke Littler is More Than Just a Pretty (and Expensive) Watch

Seventeen-year-old darts prodigy Luke “The Nuke” Littler has apparently detonated not just the dartboard, but the fashion world as well. Sources claim that his £5,500 (NZ$10,000) TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, sported during his world championship win, has catapulted him into the style stratosphere alongside icons like Lewis Hamilton and Ryan Gosling. Esquire magazine, that bastion of good taste (allegedly), has pointed out the glaring omission in TAG Heuer’s sponsorship portfolio – darts. Apparently, outbidding Rolex for Formula 1 and showering Ryan Gosling with cash just isn’t enough.

Style director Johnny Davis implores TAG Heuer to “sign up Britain’s most famous teenager immediately,” seemingly oblivious to the fact that a 17-year-old darts champion might have slightly different priorities than a multi-million dollar endorsement deal. Perhaps TAG Heuer could offer him a lifetime supply of flights and hotel rooms to Premier Inn?

Littler’s wrist candy has even been described as exuding “confident and elegant style.” We’re not sure if the same can be said for his other prized possession, a 24-carat gold iPhone, a gift for sporting giants. Apparently, the phone is “reserved for those who prove they’re worthy,” which we assume involves hitting a double-bullseye while simultaneously solving a Rubik’s Cube.

While fashion experts debate whether tungsten is the new black, Littler, we imagine, is busy practicing his checkout combinations and wondering if anyone makes a diamond-encrusted dartboard. After all, if you’re going to be a fashion icon, you might as well go all the way.
