The 24 hours of Le Mans is one of the biggest motorsport events in the world and what better place to unveil your latest hot hatchback than this one! Over the course of last weekend, Peugeot took the covers off their new e-208 GTi which also completed a lap of the famous circuit during the celebrations.
After a long hiatus, the GTi nameplate has returned to the Peugeot lineup with the electric hot hatch completing its victory lap alongside thirty GTi cars driven by owners. The performance sub-brand is billed as “the ultimate expression of Peugeot driving pleasure” and its return will no doubt be celebrated by enthusiasts. Much has changed in the motoring landscape since the first GTi debuted, forty years ago with the car’s development being led by Peugeot Sport this time!
