Jeremy Clarkson, known for his explosive (Top Gear/The Grand Tour) antics on-screen, is now making just as much noise off it – this time at his Oxfordshire pub, The Farmer’s Dog. Inspired by the 17-year-old darts prodigy Luke Littler, who smashed his way to World Championship glory like a pub regular taking on their fifth pint, Clarkson has added a dartboard to his pub’s upstairs area, thrilling patrons who grew tired of just sinking balls on the lone pool table.
The electrifying teenager from Warrington annihilated darts legend Michael van Gerwen with a commanding 7-3 victory, becoming the youngest world champ ever and apparently a beacon for boozing Brits who now want to hit bullseyes between sips of Hawkstone lager – Clarkson’s own brand, naturally.

A pub spokesperson, undoubtedly speaking between chugs of their own pint, confirmed: “A new dartboard awaits, as does a cold pint of Hawkstone and a sausage roll.” Because what else could define a high-class sports bar experience in rural England?
Clarkson’s Windmill (as the pub was formerly known), purchased for a cool million quid last year, has undergone extensive renovations to cater to a crowd thirsting for booze, darts, billiards, and sausage-related snacks. Perhaps taking inspiration from his own Diddly Squat farm’s financial nosedive – halving in value and currently looking at earning sweet bugger-all in the first two months of 2025 – Clarkson might just be pinning his economic strategy on locals spending all their cash trying to outdo Littler’s legendary 180s.

Whether pub darts can prop up a business or Clarkson’s knack for embracing trends will hit the mark remains to be seen. But if anything, you can now cheerfully sling arrows at a board, beer in hand, while muttering, “This one’s for Luke.” And if you miss? Well, there’s always the promise of a pool cue, a pint, or Clarkson shouting at you for being a “muppet”.
