Suzuki Reveals 2027 GSX-10R, a Road-Focused Litre-Class Sports Bike

Suzuki has unveiled the GSX-10R at EICMA 2026, combining a GSX-R1000-derived inline-four with its biggest electronics package yet, ahead of sales in selected markets from summer 2027.

Can a litre-class sports bike deliver superbike thrills and still be pleasant on a Tuesday commute? Suzuki thinks so. Its new 2027 GSX-10R, unveiled at EICMA 2026 in Milan, aims to do both.

The bike goes on sale in selected markets from summer 2027. Suzuki has not yet announced pricing or detailed availability.

A Familiar Engine, Refined

The GSX-10R uses a 999cc liquid-cooled, DOHC inline-four engine. It comes from the K5-generation GSX-R1000. Suzuki has refined it to run more smoothly and quietly, and has revised the oil passages to improve reliability.

Oddly, Suzuki left power figures out of its global announcement. Some European Suzuki distributors list 152PS at 11,000rpm and 106Nm at 9,250rpm. Treat those numbers as a guide until Suzuki confirms figures for each market.

Electronics Take Centre Stage

Suzuki calls this its most comprehensive electronics package to date. The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) groups 15 control functions around a six-axis IMU:

  • Three riding modes and 10-level traction control
  • Wheelie control, roll torque control and a new slide control system
  • Launch control, engine brake control and cornering ABS
  • A bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, an active speed limiter and low-RPM assist

Slide control is the new feature here. It detects rear-wheel slides in corners and helps manage them.

The GSX-10R is also the first Suzuki to get a brake hold system. It keeps pressure on the rear brake for about 30 seconds when the bike is stopped, on flat ground or facing downhill. It’s a small thing, but it shows that Suzuki designed this bike for traffic lights as well as track days.

Chassis and Riding Position

A compact aluminium twin-spar frame carries fully adjustable KYB suspension. Up front are 43mm inverted forks, and the rear gets a newly developed monoshock. Brembo calipers grip twin 310mm front discs, operated by a radial master cylinder.

The 17-inch cast aluminium wheels come with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres, sized 120/70 front and 190/55 rear. Suzuki claims a maximum lean angle of 53 degrees, compared with 48 degrees for the GSX-S1000.

Separate handlebars give a forward-leaning riding position, closer to the GSX-R1000R than to a naked bike. Other key figures:

  • Seat height: 810mm
  • Wheelbase: 1,455mm
  • Kerb weight: 214kg
  • Fuel capacity: 18 litres, with 15.8km/l on the WMTC cycle (European specification)

Equipment and Colours

All the lighting is LED. A colour TFT display supports Suzuki Ride Connect+ smartphone connectivity, and there’s a USB-C charging port. The new Suzuki Ground Beacon System makes the bike easier for other road users to see when the indicators are on.

Buyers can choose from three colour schemes: Pearl Vigor Blue/Metallic Mystic Silver, Pearl Pulse Red/Solid Iron Grey, and Metallic Galaxy Grey/Glass Sparkle Black.

Who It’s For

Launch control and slide control sit on the same spec sheet as cruise control and a hill-friendly brake hold. That mix shows who Suzuki has in mind: riders who want GSX-R-style ergonomics and a proven four-cylinder without living with a race replica every day.
