Skoda Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe production starts

Škoda Auto has entered a new era in automotive innovation with the commencement of production for its all-electric new Enyaq family, which includes the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé models. The production is taking place at Škoda’s main facility in Mladá Boleslav, a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant that flexibly accommodates both electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. This milestone underscores the brand’s commitment to sustainable mobility and its strategic role in the European automotive industry.

The new Enyaq lineup represents a significant upgrade to its predecessor, which was one of Europe’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV) series, with over 250,000 units delivered globally. The latest Enyaq models are built on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB) platform, sharing the production line with Škoda Octavia and another new compact electric SUV, the Škoda Elroq. This flexibility enables Škoda to swiftly respond to shifting market demands. The plant can produce up to 300 units of the Enyaq family daily, consolidating its importance as a hub for innovation and efficiency within the Volkswagen Group. Additionally, Mladá Boleslav manufactures traction batteries for MEB-based vehicles, supporting not only Škoda models but also other Volkswagen Group brands.

Adopting the Modern Solid design language, the new Enyaq family incorporates a blend of robustness, functionality, and authenticity. This design evolution includes a streamlined Tech-Deck Face, which contributes to an enhanced drag coefficient of 0.245 for the Enyaq and an even lower 0.229 for the Enyaq Coupé. These advancements, coupled with improved aerodynamics such as sealed radiator-grille gaps and optimized air curtains, allow for extended ranges of up to 365 miles (WLTP) for the Enyaq Coupé and 359 miles for the standard Enyaq model. Both models are available with two battery sizes and three powertrain configurations, offering outputs between 204PS and 286PS. Options include rear-wheel drive for the Enyaq 60 and Enyaq 85 variants, while the Enyaq 85x features dual motors and all-wheel drive capability for better performance.

The interiors of the new Enyaq family highlight sustainable, innovative materials and customizable comfort. Customers can select from six Design Selections that emphasize durability and eco-conscious choices. Standard features have been significantly enhanced to include amenities like heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control, and advanced safety technologies such as Side Assist and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control. Additionally, cutting-edge digital features like Remote Park Assist and Remote Trained Parking are available, reflecting Škoda’s focus on integrating smart mobility solutions.
