Renault’s E-Space Concept Makes You Want To Make a Family

Renault has dusted off its iconic Espace blueprint from 1984 and given it a full electric makeover with the stunning new E-Space Concept. This is a futuristic vision that proves electric vehicles can be both practical and desirable.

The Concept That Changes Everything

The E-Space Concept is a 4.70-metre long masterpiece finished in an elegant shade of black rubé, featuring a dramatic “U”-shaped light strip at front and rear that outlines the vehicle’s contours like a piece of modern art. At the front, an illuminated diamond appears to float in space, suspended in a subtle interplay of pixels.

This contemporary twist on Renault’s “voitures à vivre” (cars for living) philosophy fully illustrates the brand’s core markers – Design to be loved, Electrified by passion, Human-first tech, and Crafted space.

The Real-World Arsenal

While concept cars grab headlines, Renault is also showcasing a completely renewed range of full electric and full hybrid vehicles that actually hit showroom floors. Here’s what caught our attention:

The Electric Megane Gets Serious
The new Megane E-Tech electric now features a 67 kWh LFP battery delivering up to 500 km of range with a game-changing 25% improvement in DC charging performance. That means you can charge from 15% to 80% in just 24 minutes—practically the time it takes to grab a coffee.

The Unlikely Hero: Renault 5 Turbo 3E
Remember when the Renault 5 Turbo was an actual fire-breathing performance machine? Well, Renault’s gone mad in the best way possible: the electric Turbo 3E packs 555 horsepower and an eye-watering 4,800 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful street-legal Renault ever built. Two rear-mounted in-wheel motors deliver hypercar-level performance in a retro-inspired package. This is the mini-supercar we didn’t know we desperately needed.

Twingo Gets Fancy
The Twingo E-Tech electric is gaining a new Twingobay panoramic glass roof measuring 0.7m², flooding the cabin with natural light while filtering 99.9% of UV radiation. It’s the little touches—like the Twingo graphic alphabet visible from inside, that make this city car feel less like transport and more like an experience.

The Battery Revolution

The brand is rolling out LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery technology across its entire E-Tech electric passenger-car range. Why? To make electric mobility more accessible by improving the price-to-range balance. LFP batteries are cheaper and increasingly durable, which means cheaper EVs for everyone.

The Tech

Renault isn’t just slapping screens everywhere and calling it innovation. Google’s artificial intelligence Gemini is being rolled out via over-the-air updates, allowing vehicles already on the road to benefit without visiting a workshop. The new Megane also features a “Smart Mode” intelligent driving system alongside the brand’s OpenR Link with Google platform, making everyday driving genuinely easier.

Business Gets Electric Too

The new Trafic Van E-Tech electric, recently named International Van of the Year 2027, marks a breakthrough for Renault’s all-electric vans on the European market. It’s technologically advanced, efficient, comfortable, customizable, and scalable, everything a tradie or delivery driver actually needs.

Tarmac Takeaway

Renault is pursuing its ambition to develop cars that are innovative, desirable, and designed for everyday life—cars that combine innovation with emotion and an unwavering focus on added value for customers. Whether you’re a performance junkie eyeing the Turbo 3E, a family needing practicality, or a business owner chasing efficiency, Renault’s electric lineup has something.
