Tasked with expanding Renault’s presence in over 70 countries, the Boreal is the latest offering from France’s Diamond brand as they look to expand internationally. Boreal is destined for the international markets, 70 of which have been highlighted so far

The world’s best selling French car brand shifted more than 1.5m units over 2024, 40% of which were sold outside of Europe. Currently, the Kardian, Duster and Grand Koleos carry the Diamond badge overseas, a trio that will soon be joined by the Boreal. Targeting growth in the C-segment especially, catering to fast growing demand for SUVs in the highlighted markets, some of which see SUVs accounting for as much as 1 in 2 new cars sold!

Boreal’s strength is in platform sharing, allowing it to take on multiple body styles and powertrains

Built on Renault Group’s modular platform, Boreal will be available in multiple body styles and powertrains, an architecture that allows for flexibility and shorter development times. The French brand’s plant in Curitiba, Brasil will manufacture vehicles for the 17 Latin American countries while Turkey’s Bursa plant will do the same for 54 other markets. Boreal will first debut in Brasil later this year before eventually covering Latin America, with Turkey next on the list followed by the other targeted markets.
