As far as Formula E goes, Nissan are one of the championship’s legacy names, having been involved since 2018/19 via the e.dams racing team. One of their key partners throughout this journey has been Shell and now the two have announced the continuation of their partnership built on sharing a “commitment to innovation and technology leadership.”
As part of this agreement, Shell and Nissan will continue to work together on high performance lubricants for EVs, the partnership has already produced Shell’s EV-Plus E-Transmission and E-Thermal fluids. These have been developed on track where heat management was key to ensure the Nissan team could push their car for the duration of the race, the result of which benefits on road users of these EV specific products.
To date, Nissan are still the only Japanese manufacturer to have competed in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship!
