This spectacular model, built from a staggering 342,817 LEGO Technic elements, tips the scales at approximately 1,220 kg, setting the stage for a truly thrilling experience. Complete with a fully functional steering system, this LEGO marvel becomes the first of its kind to navigate the challenging corners of a racetrack. Not just a pretty face, the P1 replica boasts a high-performance electric motor powered by LEGO Technic Function batteries, allowing it to travel further than any previous LEGO model and offering the ride of a lifetime.
It took a dedicated team of 23 specialists from both the LEGO Group and McLaren Automotive a whopping 8,344 hours to bring this dream project to life. Crafted with 393 different types of LEGO Technic elements, each piece intricately contributes to the model’s authenticity and performance.
With the car finally assembled, it was time for the ultimate test: a lap around the legendary Silverstone Circuit, the birthplace of British racing. Lando Norris, known for his charisma both on and off the track, eagerly accepted the challenge. As he revved up the pop-brick powerhouse and sped along the 5.891km (3.66 miles) track, fans held their breath, witnessing a one-of-a-kind blend of childhood nostalgia and high-octane racing.
Norris completed the lap with style, proving that this LEGO creation was not just a static display but a true testament to engineering prowess. The excitement didn’t stop there!
