KTM has outlined its 2027 range ahead of EICMA in Milan, led by the long-delayed 1390 Super Duke GT, a TFT upgrade for the Super Duke R and optional cruise control on the 390 Adventure R.
KTM has shown its hand early. Ahead of EICMA in Milan, the Austrian brand has outlined its 2027 range across its Adventure, Naked and Off-road categories. Every model will be on its stand throughout the show.
Much of the list is new paint. The real changes come in a handful of models, led by a touring Super Duke that has taken a long time to reach dealers.
The Super Duke GT Finally Reaches Dealers
KTM first unveiled the 1390 Super Duke GT at EICMA 2024, and it will now arrive at dealers in early 2027. That’s a long wait between reveal and showroom. KTM says the bike is a complete transformation over the previous generation.
Most of the news is in the touring kit. An 8.8-inch touchscreen TFT now includes offline onboard map navigation, so riders don’t need a paired phone to find their way. A standard adjustable screen and an integrated SP Connect mount also come fitted. KTM has reworked the seat for long days in the saddle as well.
The GT Evo adds KTM’s Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). It does away with the clutch and lets riders choose between manual gear changes and fully automatic shifting. On a bike built to cover big distances, that choice makes practical sense.
Sharper Hardware for the Super Duke R
The 1390 Super Duke R and R Evo return with two new colourways and some useful upgrades. Both get the 8.8-inch touchscreen, which KTM says brings a cleaner and faster interface. They also get new handlebar switchgear.
The brakes are new too. An updated Brembo HyPure caliper setup is fitted, and KTM claims sharper stopping power. That claim comes from KTM alone for now, but better brakes on a bike this potent are hard to argue with.
Small Adventure Bikes Gain Practical Upgrades
At the lighter end, the 390 Adventure R gets an updated left-hand switch cube. This allows optional cruise control, which is a genuinely useful comfort feature for long-distance riding on a lightweight adventure bike.
An updated 390 Adventure X joins the range after the show, around December. It comes in two new colour schemes and gains a TFT display.
The 790 Adventure, meanwhile, swaps its orange and white options for a single new black colourway. KTM mentions no other changes, but the darker finish gives one of its most versatile platforms a more understated look.
Off-road Refreshes and a Promised Surprise
The 390 SMC R and 390 Enduro R both get new colourways for 2027. The entry-level 125 SMC and 125 Enduro get the same treatment. All four changes are cosmetic.
KTM is holding back its more intriguing off-road news. It will show new off-road technology at its press conference on 3 November at 10:45 CET. The presentation will also include what KTM calls a special surprise from its off-road segment, and the brand says the technology details are reserved for conference attendees.
What the 2027 Range Adds Up To
Visitors can see the range at Hall 22, Booth E08. For now, the two changes riders will notice most are the Super Duke GT’s arrival and cruise control on a 390. KTM is saving its off-road reveal for the press conference on 3 November.
