Bolstered by new alliances and continued Samsung synergies supporting its “Consumer Experiences. Automotive Grade” value proposition, HARMAN redefines the in-car experience with new intelligence and contextual awareness
HARMAN, a leader in automotive technology and a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, unveiled a series of game-changing collaborations set to redefine the in-car experience. With an emphasis on integrating intelligence, empathy, and contextual awareness, HARMAN’s initiatives underscore its vision to transform vehicles into intelligent, empathetic companions for drivers and passengers alike.
Pioneering Intelligent In-Car Experiences
One of the most groundbreaking developments comes through HARMAN’s partnership with Cerence AI, showcasing the “Luna” avatar powered by HARMAN’s Ready Engage platform. This emotionally intelligent system leverages generative AI to anticipate and naturally respond to user needs through voice and visuals. Embodying flexibility, the Luna avatar integrates Cerence AI’s voice assistant platform but remains adaptable for further advancements in AI technology. Additionally, it enhances HARMAN’s Ready Link Marketplace developer ecosystem, allowing third-party developers to easily create secure, personalised in-car apps through the integration of Cerence AI’s CaLLM Edge small language model (SLM).
Collaborations Driving Safety and Connectivity
In collaboration with HL Klemove, HARMAN is creating an advanced cockpit and driver assistance integration. Their innovative central compute unit (CCU), combining HARMAN’s cockpit domain controller with HL Klemove’s Level 2 software stack and ADAS sensors, aims to deliver seamless safety and navigation experiences to automakers. The upcoming product-grade CCU platform promises better customisation and faster time-to-market for manufacturers.
Further enhancing connectivity, HARMAN and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. are redefining telematics with the Ready Connect 5G module. This unit integrates satellite communication through Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2, enabling services like emergency messaging via satellite coverage, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity wherever users travel.

Display Technology Meets Automotive Excellence
HARMAN’s leadership in display technology is exemplified by its Ready Display products. Powered by Samsung Neo QLED technology, these displays introduce cadmium-free Quantum Dot technology and Blue Mini LED-based local dimming, bringing stunning home-theatre-like visuals directly into vehicles. Additionally, HARMAN and Samsung have co-developed the HDR10+ automotive standard, making Ready Display the first HDR10+-compliant product of its kind, elevating the visual standard for in-cabin experiences.
Personalised Comfort and Safety
Through an ongoing partnership with Gentherm, HARMAN integrates its Ready Care platform with WellSense, a cutting-edge in-cabin comfort technology. By monitoring real-time driver data, including cognitive load and vital signals, the system provides personalised interventions, such as seat heating or cooling, to enhance safety and comfort during the drive. This groundbreaking feature demonstrates HARMAN’s commitment to both driver wellbeing and next-generation in-cabin experiences.
Tying it All Together
Christian Sobottka, President of HARMAN Automotive, summarised the company’s vision at CES 2025: “By working with industry leaders across the automotive and technology sectors, we are embracing collective intelligence to create a new level of in-cabin experiences that adapt to what consumers want and automakers need” . This vision is bolstered by HARMAN’s collaborations, from integrating empathy-driven AI solutions to delivering ground-breaking connectivity and display innovations.
As vehicles increasingly become hubs of technology, HARMAN’s innovations exemplify the future-ready solutions modern automakers and consumers demand. With partnerships spanning industries and a focus on intelligence, safety, and customisation, HARMAN is leading the charge toward empathetic, seamless in-car experiences for the road ahead.
