To help reshape New Zealand’s automotive landscape, Geely has announced the appointment of industry veteran Jordan Haines as their New Zealand Brand Manager.
Having cut his teeth in the automotive sector for 13 years, including a noteworthy stint as Volkswagen New Zealand’s National Sales Manager, Haines brings a wealth of experience to the role.
“The opportunity to introduce Geely to Kiwi drivers is genuinely exciting,” Haines says. “We’re talking about a brand that’s not just about moving metal – it’s about making cutting-edge innovation and sustainability accessible to everyone.”
The appointment comes hot on the heels of Geely Auto’s strategic partnership with Giltrap Group, announced in late 2024 – a move that signals the Chinese automotive giant’s serious intentions in the Oceanian market.

WHAT’S IN STORE?
Kiwi drivers can expect to see the Geely EX5 hit local shores first – an all-electric mid-sizer that’s set to make waves in the increasingly competitive EV space. But that’s just the beginning. The brand is promising a full lineup spanning hybrid, plug-in hybrid, range-extended and traditional petrol powertrains.
To support this ambitious rollout, Geely is establishing a comprehensive dealer network across New Zealand, demonstrating both Geely and Giltrap Group’s long-term commitment to the market.
The brand joins Giltrap’s impressive stable of Geely-owned marques, including the prestigious Volvo, performance-focused Polestar, and legendary Lotus brands.
