The serious crash unit is investigating a fatal crash that took place at 5:30am this morning in Hamilton. The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene, according to Waikato Police.
Te Rapa Road in Horotiu, near the Fonterra Dairy Factory, is closed and drivers are advised to take alternative routes until police investigation concludes.
This was one of two serious crashes in Waikato this morning. The other one took place on Tower Road in Matamata around 4:45am. The driver, in critical condition, was airlifted to Waikato Hospital. Tower Road is closed with diversions in place.
