Cadillac continues to prove its mettle in motorsport. The iconic American brand now have four entries into this year’s 24 hours of Le Mans in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and now, their entry for an F1 team has been formally approved by motorsports’ governing body!

Backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors, the Cadillac Formula One Team will take to the grid in March 2026! The FIA have provided official confirmation that Cadillac have met the entry requirements and will join the 10 existing teams next year at the pinnacle of motorsport.

The outfit will be a “distinctly American team”, using the resources of TWG Group with the performance of General Motors and the group’s historic success in motorsport. Graeme Lowdon has already been appointed as team principal with Russ O’Blenes nominated to take charge of the chassis and powertrain through TWG GM Performance Power Units LLC.

The bid began back in January 2023 and has since assembled a team of 300 to work on various components of the vehicle in preparation for its approval. Operations are spread out over Indianapolis, Charlotte and Warren in the United States with an arm of the team also based in Silverstone, England.
