Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the latest iteration of its iconic off-roader, the G 63, promising enhanced performance and modern technological upgrades while staying true to its legendary heritage. Known for its unmistakable style and formidable off-road capabilities, the G-Class continues to evolve, meeting the demands of both the road and adventurers worldwide.

At the heart of the new G 63 is a refined 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine, now equipped with an Integrated Starter Generator and a 48-volt electrical system. This update not only boosts engine output to 430 kW and 850 Nm of torque but also offers an additional 15 kW and 200 Nm when needed for rapid acceleration. This translates to an impressive 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.4 seconds, reduced to 4.3 seconds with the optional RACE START function as part of the AMG Performance Package.

“The G-Class is an automotive icon, and the Mercedes-AMG G 63 has been the most popular model for many years. This is both an obligation and an incentive for us,” said Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Head of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class business unit. “Our aim was therefore to make the enhanced performance even more tangible – both on and off-road. One of the ways we have achieved this is through improvements to the V8 engine and our new AMG suspension, which combines agility, driving dynamics, and comfort.”
The G 63 comes with the standard AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension and optional AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, both designed to offer optimal ride comfort and handling across diverse terrains. The latter, available through the AMG Performance Package, features active hydraulic stabilisers that enhance driving stability by minimizing body roll on uneven ground.

Inside, the G 63 integrates the latest MBUX multimedia system, marking its debut in the G-Class. The system includes satellite navigation with augmented reality, providing real-time, enhanced visual guidance during travel. The cutting-edge interface can be operated via a touchscreen, a touchpad in the console, or through haptic controls on the steering wheel, ensuring intuitive user interaction.
New to the G-Class, the Offroad Cockpit offers real-time driving and vehicle data crucial for off-road excursions. Complementing this is the ‘Transparent Bonnet’ feature, which uses cameras to project the terrain below the vehicle onto the central display, enhancing driver awareness in challenging conditions.
While staying true to its rugged roots, the G 63 flaunts a host of styling updates that enhance its contemporary yet timeless appeal. Highlights include new air intakes, an AMG crest badge on the bonnet, and a host of new finishes, such as a silver-chrome fuel filler cap. Standard 22-inch AMG cross-spoke forged alloys and the AMG Night Package enhance its athletic stance.

For those looking to personalize their G 63, an extensive range of options is available, including the AMG Carbon Fibre and Night Package II. Interior packages like the Superior Line Interior Plus Package add further luxury with features such as diamond Nappa leather seats and ambient lighting.
The G 63 isn’t just about raw power; it embraces luxury and personalisation. Among the choices are 21 leather upholsteries, multiple wheel options, and 28 paint colors, including the new MANUFAKTUR hyper blue magno. These options ensure that every G 63 can be tailored to match its owner’s style and needs.
