Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV all-electric opulence

With maximum luxury at every turn and every touch point, and the addition for the first time of a refined and powerful all-electric drivetrain, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is redefining automotive excellence in the age of electromobility.

Now available to order in New Zealand, the large five-seat SUV is the first all-electric model in the Mercedes-Maybach range, which also includes the opulent Mercedes-Maybach S-Class saloon and the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV.

“The very first all-electric vehicle from Mercedes-Maybach complements the best technologies from Mercedes-Benz with the extra comfort and individual details that are only available from Mercedes-Maybach,” says Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management for Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
Adds Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes-Maybach: “Our customers can look forward to an absolutely top-class electric driving experience – with the aura of the extraordinary that is typical of Maybach.”

The new all-electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is powered by two permanently excited synchronous e-motors mounted at the front and rear axles, producing a total of 484 kW and 950 Nm
to be sent to all four wheels via 4MATIC all-wheel-drive. Accelerating from a standstill, the EQS 680
SUV can reach 100 km/h in as little as 4.4 seconds, and has a top speed of 210 km/h.

With a combined power consumption of 20.2 kWh per 100km, the EQS 680 SUV has an estimated
maximum driving range of 662 km. The EQS 680 SUV can receive charging capacity of up to 200 kW, with an estimated charging time from 10 to 80% at a DC fast charging station of around 31 minutes.

A key focus in the EQS 680 SUV is the creation of a luxurious, comfortable and convenient environment for rear-seat passengers and it’s here that a combination of exquisite materials, exceptional craftsmanship and exclusive details has resulted in a self-contained, feel-good atmosphere for all the senses.

Standard AIRMATIC air suspension with continuously adjustable damping meets the highest standard of occupant comfort, and the vehicle height can be raised by as much as 35 mm to increase ground clearance. A key feature speaking to the luxurious ambience that has been created especially for rear-seat passengers in the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV is superb noise and vibration suppression.

Exclusive design elements lend the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV a distinctive character all of its own. It starts from the upright Mercedes star on the bonnet that instantly defines its premium status, and an
imposing black front panel set with chrome-plated strips. This closed panel conceals the forward radar
sensors for the first time thanks to the use of iridium, a wafer-thin material through which radar beams are able to permeate. The shiny silver material is covered with a black lacquer finish, creating a unique high-gloss black appearance with an extraordinary depth effect. Chrome-plated, filigree slats also form part of the air intake of the bumper. The Maybach pattern with several small brand emblems can be found in trim parts of the side bumper.

The new all-electric Mercedes‐Maybach EQS 680 SUV is priced at $304,500 and is available to order from
today, with first deliveries starting in July.
