Available in limited numbers, the F1 Edition of one of the world’s most loved performance sedans adds even greater visual presence via a list of striking enhancements and highlights, many of which are not available on the C 63 S E PERFORMANCE sedan’s comprehensive standard equipment or options lists.
The extra visual punch further enhances the outstanding appeal of a ground-breaking model combining the world’s most powerful production four-cylinder engine with outstanding responsiveness and efficiency, thanks to an innovative hybrid concept derived directly from Formula 1-developed technology.
Outstanding exterior enhancement
The C 63 S E PERFORMANCE F1 Edition is clad in MANUFAKTUR alpine grey paint, the impactful solid finish blending with AMG foiling on the flanks with a subtle gradient from grey to black. It provides a sharp styling contrast to the punchy red trim line encircling the vehicle, serving to emphasise the performance sedan’s purposeful stance.
Extra visual pop comes from 20-inch AMG light-alloy wheels which are painted in matt black, including an F1 Edition-exclusive red rim flange, matching the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE Coupé that serves as the FIA Medical Car for Formula 1 races.
Adding substance to F1-inspired style
The suite of F1 Edition enhancements adds substance as well as style. The included AMG Aerodynamics Package was developed in a wind tunnel, resulting in improved handling characteristics at high speeds in addition to adding a more dynamic visual impression.
Further visual differentiation comes with the addition of the AMG Night Package II, adding a dark chrome element to the radiator grille, and typography in dark chrome on the front wings and rear. This adds extra impact to the AMG Night Package I that is standard on C 63 S E PERFORMANCE models, bringing high-gloss black finishes to the front splitter, trim elements in the front wings, outside mirror housings, window surrounds, the beltline trim strip and trim strip in the rear apron plus a black chrome finish to the twin tailpipe trims.
Red highlights frame a racy interior
More visual drama awaits as soon as you open the driver’s door. Contrasting black and red finishes abound, including AMG Performance front seats upholstered in Exclusive black Nappa leather, finished with red decorative topstitching and embossed AMG emblems in the front head restraints.
Seatbelts in matching red follow the sporty look, while F1 Edition-exclusive AMG carbon trim elements include a red thread. The AMG Performance steering wheel in a combination of supple Nappa leather and DINAMICA microfibre is finished in red decorative topstitching, while the front door sill trims include AMG lettering illuminated in red.
An exclusive F1 Edition badge and specific AMG floor mats with red decorative topstitching and F1 logo complete the race-themed interior makeover.
Performance to match the race-inspired look
The C 63 S E PERFORMANCE F1 Edition serves to further highlight the strong links between Formula 1 and E PERFORMANCE technology, which was developed by Mercedes-AMG with inspiration from technology transferred directly from Formula 1.
The combination of the world’s most powerful production four-cylinder engine with a Mercedes-AMG-developed Electric Drive Unit mounted on the rear axle produces truly astonishing levels of performance in the C 63 S E PERFORMANCE model – a combined total of 500 kW and 1020 Nm.
In the course of developing this groundbreaking drivetrain, there was a lively exchange of expert knowledge between the High Performance Powertrains engine shop of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team in Brixworth, UK, and Mercedes-AMG in Affalterbach, Germany.
