Maserati, the OG of Italian automotive swagger, is gate-crashing CES 2025 in Las Vegas like it’s a Rap Concert afterparty. Teaming up with brainiacs from Politecnico di Milano and a posse of tech and audio heavyweights—including Sonus faber, Maserati is flaunting its signature blend of luxury and tech with the MC20 Cielo convertible and Grecale SUV, both proudly flexing Italian “avanguardia” from January 7-10, 2025.
The MC20 Cielo, Maserati’s crown jewel at CES, isn’t just another pretty face with a V6 roar, it’s a sci-fi fever dream come to life. Enter AIDA, the “Artificial Intelligence Driving Autonomous” project helmed by Politecnico di Milano and MOST (aka the National Center for Sustainable Mobility). This brainy collaboration promises autonomous tech that can handle public roads without so much as a “hold my espresso” moment.
And here’s the kicker. This isn’t Maserati’s first rodeo with robo-drivers. Back in November, its MC20 Coupe went full Terminator and smashed a world record by hitting 285 km/h (177 mph) in dense fog, all minus the shaky human hands on the wheel. Thanks to Politecnico di Milano’s robo-driver tech, no humans cried, though the fog was probably shook.

At CES, this legendary fog-slaying Coupe is pulling double duty as the official Safety Car for the Autonomous Challenge race on January 9 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Meanwhile, its futuristic sibling, the MC20 Cielo, will strike a pose at West Hall #3874 in the Italian Innovation Collective’s booth, soaking in adoration like a supermodel at Milan Fashion Week. It’s all about showcasing the future of Italian tech for AI-driven mobility, and making everyone else feel like they’re stuck in the digital Stone Age.
So, while competitors tinker away at impressing tech geeks, Maserati is straight-up rewriting history books. The message? You can have brains, speed, and impeccable style—just don’t forget to bring your sunglasses when you get to the Cielo.
