New Lexus UX300e to get 450km range

With a newly developed larger battery on board, driving from Auckland to Taupo will be a breeze for the
revamped Lexus UX 300e.

Arriving in New Zealand in mid-2023, the second iteration of the battery electric UX 300e will feature
an increased battery capacity from 54.4 kWh to 72.8 kWh to achieve a greater driving range compared
to the current model, with an estimated WLTP range of 450kms.

Lexus New Zealand General Manager Andrew Davis says the UX 300e extended driving range will
make it more appealing to a wider range of customers which will help in Lexus’ decarbonisation goals.

“Lexus is aiming to decarbonise its portfolio as part of an overall commitment to reduce our impact on the environment and communities we operate in. The UX 300e is the first model of many new and exciting battery electric vehicles we will see from Lexus over the next few years.”

Lexus takes its ‘Lexus Electrification’ vision to the next level and continues to pioneer electrification in the
luxury market, ensuring both excellent driving and environmental performance. Lexus will continue to
explore the enjoyment of cars, staying close to the diverse customer needs through significant evolution
and providing electrified vehicles such as HEVs and PHEVs.

The newly announced partial improvements to the UX series are designed to deepen the elegant, sharp,
and sophisticated driving experience and expresses the marque’s qualities of brave design, imaginative
technology, takumi craftsmanship and omotenashi – luxurious hospitality.

Clever engineering and design of the UX 300e has resulted in an unaltered driving experience compared
to the hybrid electric edition – only the quiet and seamless acceleration of the sole electric motor identifies the UX 300e as a battery electric vehicle.

“Built for a mostly urban driver in mind, the UX 300e provides an enjoyable and sustainable city driving
experience. The range extension gives Lexus UX 300e motorists a little more freedom to travel around
the country without needing to stop at a fast charger.” Andrew says.

Featuring both AC and DC charging ports, drivers will have the flexibility to switch between home charging or fast charging while out.

The Lexus UX 300e harnesses over a decade of unrivalled Lexus expertise in electric motor, battery, and
energy management development, producing a flagship UX that combines brave design with energetic
performance and agile dynamics. The all-electric UX 300e offers maximum power of 150kW and 300Nm of torque, incorporating a high-output motor and a battery.
