Kia Niro claims Women’s World Car of the Year title

International Women’s Day has been of special significance for the team at Kia New Zealand, with news that the new Niro has been voted Women’s World Car of the Year 2023.

“We’re thrilled to have Kia Niro recognised as the Supreme Winner of this prestigious international award,” said Managing Director of Kia New Zealand, Todd McDonald.

“The Kia Niro is a stand out performer, thanks to the all-new generation offering a wide-ranging suite of significant updates, including a specific focus on safety, aesthetics, design and technology – as well as a variety of low and no emission powertrain alternatives.

“The icing on the cake is that here in New Zealand, all models in the Kia Niro range qualify for a Clean Car rebate.”

The Kia Niro was selected as the winner by 63 female motoring journalists hailing from 43 countries, including New Zealand, who scored it highest against 59 other contenders.

The judges heaped praise on the Kia Niro for being “a spacious, stylish, efficient and practical car that is right on trend with its size, design and drive,” (Petra Mühr, Austria), for offering “numerous powertrain options, stylish design, easy-to-use technology, comfortable seating,” (Elana Scherr, USA) and recognised it as “a flexible vehicle, an attractive design, quality/luxury and a range of engines where all drivers can match their mobility needs.” (Sabrina Parant, Belgium).

Pricing for the new Kia Niro range starts from $44,990* and all models in the lineup qualify for a Clean Car rebate.
