Man billed GBP 50 Million for insurance on old Ford
It’s been reported in the UK’s Daily Star (so take it with a pinch of salt) that a ‘Dad was billed £50m for car insurance and was ‘allowed to pay’ £4.2m monthly instalments for old Ford.’
Now don’t get me wrong, some of the older Fords have become quite the investment, but this seems extreme.
The report says that the dad-of-three received the shock of his life after car insurance company sent him a bill of over £50 million when he tried to cancel his annual insurance policy.
Mohammed Irfan, 38, was obviously upset when discovered the huge sum for his Ford Kuga, which is worth £17,000.
His wife Ms Akhtar said: “The figure was so long I nearly had a heart attack. Even car insurance for a Ferrari or a Lamborghini isn’t that much. When I first saw it, I didn’t know what to do.”
The insurance company has admitted to the mistake and offered a compensation of £50 for the blunder. A spokesperson for the company told Mr Irfan: “I have now investigated your complaint fully. I would like to apologise for any inconvenience or distress this may have caused you.”
