The ‘priceless’ (one of 2) Polestar 6 LA Concept edition roadster has been unveiled in NZ and it’s a thing of beauty.
Described as ‘the emotions of performance’, there are only two of the Polestar Electric Roadster Concept Cars in existence (not bragging or anything, but I have now seen both), and it/they have been developed to create a true connection between those who love performance and the embodiment of a newer, cleaner version of it – to remind everyone of the joyful, thrilling experience that driving can be.
The Polestar 6 will be an electric roadster (convertible) hardtop, built on Polestar’s bespoke bonded aluminium platform that was developed by Polestar R&D UK. It will boast an output of up to 650 kW (884 hp) and 900 Nm from a dual motor powertrain, a targeted 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 250 km/h, all made possible through the same high-performance, 800-volt electric architecture already confirmed for Polestar 5.
The (essentially already spoken for) first 500 production cars are exclusive, numbered Polestar 6 LA Concept edition. With features that include, custom-designed 21” alloy wheels, the unique Sky exterior colour (other colours available), special body side graphics and a distinctive, animal welfare-traced leather interior.
According to Bruce Fowler, Polestar NZ brand manager, they have managed to secure a number of vehicle allocations (he wouldn’t be drawn on the exact amount) for NZ – but demand is high.
In true Polestar fashion, despite having travelled thousands of km to get here, the Polestar Electric Roadster Concept Car’s journey has been tracked, traced and 100% carbon neutralised. The reveal took place at an intimate and exclusive event in the Car Store located in Westfield Newmarket, however the stunning 2+2 convertible will be there for the public to drool over until mid/late January.
For those keen to grab one, price indication is estimated to be around US$200,000 and build slots are expected to be around this time next year – so expect to see them on our roads early 2024 – just in time for the sunny weather.
