Quad Lock has built a reputation on keeping phones secure in demanding conditions. Now the Australian accessories brand is applying that same thinking to something far smaller (and arguably just as easy to lose or break) with the launch of its first-ever AirPods case.
Built to Survive the Drop
The case uses a shock-resistant shell designed to absorb impact and keep AirPods sealed inside. Quad Lock describes the fit as rattle-free, meaning the earphones stay put rather than shifting around on impact. The brand draws a direct line between this product and its phone mounts, the same drop-tested approach, scaled down.

That framing makes sense. Quad Lock’s phone mounting hardware has earned credibility with riders and drivers who need gear that holds up. Applying that standard to an AirPods case is a logical extension, even if the stakes are somewhat lower than a phone bouncing off a motorway at speed.
One-Hand Opening and Aligned MagSafe Charging
Two practical frustrations with standard AirPods cases get addressed here. First, the lid, Quad Lock uses a magnetic flip-lock mechanism that opens with a single button press, removing the need to grip the case with one hand while prying with the other.
Second, wireless charging alignment. The case includes auto-aligning magnets built for MagSafe, so it snaps into position on a charger rather than sitting slightly off and failing to charge. Anyone who has placed a case on a pad and returned to find a flat battery will appreciate the idea.
A built-in tether point and carabiner are included in the box, allowing the case to be clipped to a bag, belt loop, or bike. It is a simple addition, but a useful one for anyone prone to leaving small items behind.
The McLaren Formula 1 Team Edition
The higher-priced variant is finished in the McLaren team’s signature papaya orange with official branding, produced under Quad Lock’s existing licensing partnership with McLaren. Quad Lock is clear that the edition changes nothing about the case’s function — the shell, lid mechanism, and charging behaviour are identical to the standard model.

The case is compatible with AirPods 4, AirPods Pro (first and second generation), and AirPods Pro 3.
Why It Matters
AirPods cases are not short of competition, but most prioritise aesthetics over durability. Quad Lock is positioning this product differently, as protective hardware first, with the McLaren edition offering a fan-facing option on top of that foundation.
For the brand’s existing customers (cyclists, motorcyclists, and drivers already using Quad Lock mounts) the AirPods case fits naturally into a wider ecosystem of everyday carry gear. Whether the broader market agrees that an AirPods case warrants the premium over standard alternatives will depend on how much weight buyers place on drop protection and one-handed convenience.
