Lightning-Fast Performance Meets Electric Innovation

The Trailseeker is poised to make history as Subaru’s quickest production vehicle ever built. With a maximum combined power output of 280 kW, the electric SUV accelerates from 0–100 km/h in approximately 4.4 seconds—remarkable performance that demonstrates how electric power can deliver genuine excitement without compromising on the brand’s core values.

Despite this impressive acceleration, the Trailseeker refuses to sacrifice the all-road capability that defines Subaru. Featuring 211mm of ground clearance, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a low centre of gravity, the vehicle combines genuine all-terrain confidence with a dynamic, purposeful SUV design that’s unmistakably Subaru.

Real-World Capability for Everyday Adventures

At the heart of the Trailseeker lies Subaru’s next-generation e-Subaru Global Platform, engineered specifically to support higher outputs, extended driving range, and enhanced all-wheel drive performance. The rigid, well-balanced architecture intelligently manages power delivery, traction, and vehicle balance in real time, creating a composed and assured driving experience across sealed roads, rough surfaces, and longer-distance journeys.

Powered by a 74.7 kWh CATL battery, the Trailseeker delivers an impressive driving range of up to 488 kilometres. The vehicle supports rapid 150 kW DC fast-charging, capable of reaching 80 per cent charge in approximately 30 minutes, while 22 kW three-phase AC charging and 1500 W Vehicle-to-Load capability enhance everyday versatility. With a 1,500kg braked towing capacity, the Trailseeker proves that electric vehicles can be genuinely practical for real-world adventure and everyday use.

New Zealand’s EV Solution

The Trailseeker Touring has been selected as Subaru’s electric SUV offering for the New Zealand market, providing Kiwi customers with a larger, more adventure-oriented electric option. Following the previous (ultimate) success and subsequent sell-out of the Solterra model in New Zealand, the Trailseeker represents an eagerly anticipated addition to the Subaru lineup.

“We welcome the arrival of Trailseeker to New Zealand, as it is a personality-packed EV,” says Jerry Delaney, General Manager of Inchcape New Zealand, Subaru’s distributor. “It delivers electric performance without compromising on confidence, control or real-world capability, the qualities our customers expect from a Subaru.”

The Subaru Difference

What truly sets the Trailseeker apart is its dual-motor Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, tuned by Subaru engineers to deliver their trademark predictable, confidence-inspiring traction across diverse conditions. This reinforces the brand’s unwavering focus on stability, safety, and driver assurance, principles that remain central to Subaru’s identity even as the company embraces electric propulsion.
