Mazda is ushering in a new era of electromobility with the introduction of the all-new Mazda6e, a sleek five-door hatchback designed for the European market. The Mazda6e stands as Mazda’s latest battery electric vehicle (BEV), offering not only advanced technology and performance but also a deep commitment to the brand’s signature philosophy – Jinba Ittai, the symbolic unity between car and driver. This electric debut promises to blend Mazda’s tradition of driving enjoyment with the demands and possibilities of modern electrification.
Design and Offering
The Mazda6e is an elegant, stylish five-door hatchback, reflecting Mazda’s Craftsmanship in every detail. It is available with two powertrain options: either a 68.8kWh or an 80kWh battery, offering prospective buyers a choice between range and potential performance.

Driving Dynamics and Jinba Ittai Philosophy
Central to Mazda’s philosophy is Jinba Ittai – the feeling of oneness between car and driver. With the Mazda6e, this concept evolves for the electric age. Mazda engineers in Hiroshima and Oberursel have meticulously calibrated steering, suspension, and pedals to deliver confident, harmonious handling and immediate, intuitive response. A 50:50 balanced weight distribution, rear-wheel drive, and multi-link rear suspension underscore Mazda’s commitment to dynamic driving, ensuring that the new model retains the brand’s renowned direct feedback and handling finesse.
Two electric powertrains are available: one delivering 258PS and the other 245PS, both generating 320Nm of torque. This guarantees smooth acceleration and brisk, responsive performance, characteristic of rear-wheel drive vehicles. The integrated brake control system enables fluid, seamless transitions during acceleration, braking, and turning, boosting both stability and ride comfort. Additionally, the rear spoiler deploys automatically at 60mph to optimize downforce and high-speed stability.

Cabin Experience and Customisation
Inside, the Mazda6e features a cockpit designed to place the driver at the center, supported by ergonomic seating that ensures comfort and intimacy, even on longer trips. Drivers can select from three dedicated drive modes: Normal, Sport, and Individual.
- Normal Mode balances range and performance for daily commutes, with smooth acceleration and standard steering and regenerative braking.
- Sport Mode enhances driving engagement, increasing acceleration, regenerative braking, and steering resistance for more road feel.
- Individual Mode empowers drivers to tailor acceleration (medium or strong), regenerative braking (four levels), and steering resistance (standard or sport), offering a personalized experience.

Refinement for European Markets
The Mazda6e is engineered to meet the expectations of European drivers. Every component, from precise steering feel to damper characteristics, is fine-tuned to deliver both reassurance and enjoyment on Europe’s diverse roads. The yaw rate is carefully aligned with human perception, cementing the Jinba Ittai connection even further.
